See http://www.norcalpa.org/events/2008-conference for information on the Northern California Publishers & Authors (NCPA) conference. The keynote speaker will be Dan Poynter, the guru of self-publishing. Other featured speakers will include San Francisco literary agents Michael Larsen and Elizabeth Pomada and web-based marketing expert (and author and former bookstore owner) Stephanie Chandler. The event will come the day after NCPA's awards dinner for independently published books (some self-published, some not). NCPA has a varied membership, including some very accomplished independent publishers.
For those in the region, this conference is worth taking a look at.
