Uh-oh....

If your convinced it exists, than yeah. I don't believe in it, so it's an exception for me.

Aw, I'll play nice. I got him a certificate for a 90 minute massage and a comfy pair of slippers.

Honestly, what's the big deal? If you don't like it, go post in the anti-Valentine's thread. I wanted to start something nice. I spent the first 22 years of my life alone and I never begrudged anyone else the pleasure of celebrating for a day.

I took my princess out for a meal and pampered her shamelessly.

Then again, that's no more than she expects every day.

I keep hoping for some kind of reciprocal gesture from her, like getting naked and covering herself in goose grease, but thus far all my hopes have been in vain.

Maybe next year. Wistful sigh.

Nothing, but my friends gave me an assortment of cookies and candy, I almost feel guilty of the hipocresy (no! I don't celebrate no darn Valentine's but you can give me candy anyway!).

My husband and I don't do Valentine's Day huge - we get stuff for the kids. For each other, we give cards, he gives me flowers, and I let him live with me for another year :D

A clean house, :e2brows: (after kids pass out from their chocolate binge), two heart shaped pizzas, candy, and strawberry Crush to drink.

We havn't eaten yet, though.

I'll be a good sport, Jo. I got DH something extravagant, but considering I've done the absolute bare minimum for V-day for the past 8 years, I'm okay with that. I got him a Zen. It's the size of a credit card. He got me one for Christmas and I'm in love with it, so I wanted him to have one too.

I'm saving her gift for later tonight. It's skimpy, you could read a newspaper through the fabric, and it's her favorite color.

Somehow, that sounds more like my present. :)

I'm saving her gift for later tonight. It's durable, you can't read a newspaper through the fabric, and it's her favorite color.

Somehow, that sounds more like my present. :)A tarp?

That's a great image, Jon! It looks familiar, too. Do you know where the photo was taken? I'm thinking near Boca Grande Pass, perhaps close to the channel. I'd swear I've seen that shot before.

I'm not into extravagant presents, and I'm not into giving candy or anything (for a very uncharitable reason that I won't express in case it irritates some people) SO... So I got my man a different sort of gift. It only cost me $1.25, but it meant a lot to me to give, and I hope it meant as much to him to receive.

He got a key to my place. :)

A kiss good-bye when he went off to work. And a warning to watch out for the idiots on the road.

I got my still-broken hubby a card and a large box of his favorite handmade chocolates. I also poured out two full glasses of Veuve Cliquot for him (he has been denied any alcohol since mid-November due to the meds he's taking, but I figured it's a special occasion so what the hell.) Then I made him his favorite steak dinner and there's only one way to cap off a steak dinner, ya know. :)

What did he get me? Glad you asked. He got me an OED!!!!! I'm so happy.

Wait... were you a mail order bride who went from being single to being married overnight?
