I SMOKED IT!

Four weeks ago, I took the test that would tell the state whether or not I'm smart enough to teach elementary school.

Today I got a neato certificate from the testing facility that says I scored in the top 15% of ALL test takers previous to this year!

No score report yet, so I don't know the exact number, but I did some Googling and found out you need to score at LEAST a 181 to get a certificate.

The qualifying score for the State of New Jersey to teach in elementary school...141

Exactly how smart DO you need to be to teach elementary school? Seems to me you only need to be smarter than a bunch of 6th graders. How hard can that be? :tongue

Fifth Graders. Now Elementary School goes from K-5, and Middle School starts at 6th.

LOL. Actually I've heard of people failing the test. Many have failed to qualify by a single point or two. I passed by at least forty.

It's really a general knowledge test in Math, Science, Social Studies and English.

Now I can get on that show "Are you smarter than a Fifth Grader"!

I have a request. Would you please make sure those kids know how to spell? Also, the difference between 'ask' and 'axe', 'then' and 'than' and 'its' and 'it's', 'their' and 'there' and 'your' and 'you're'.
