View Full Version : What makes you happy?

Susie
02-11-2008, 05:07 AM
Besides getting a manuscript accepted, what makes you happy. I'm interested. For me, it's:

l. Being on AW with my friends, o' course.
2. Playing the guitar.
3. Being with Mr. Susie.
4. Eating chocolate.

(Not necessarily in that order).:)

It's the little things that make me happy: an iced coffee, a new issue of PEOPLE magazine, snuggles from my girls, a good nap, a HOT shower, putting the finishing touch on a piece I've written, someone taking the time to be thoughtful. I could go on...

I can't stop thinking about this. I'd like to add: a long conversation with my best friend, a back rub (with nothing expected in return), looking into misterwrites' eyes, watching a movie by myself, not having to share my food. And God. His presence in my life means everything, for without Him I am nothing.

A succesful run, or a succesful read-through, of a writing project.

A thorough post-apocalyptic day-dream.

Having money. Lots of it, though, can't get worked up about a couple of hundred quid. I love the stuff, I don't care, I do.

Bombay Sapphire.

Sunshine - not the pusillanimous spring kind, but skin-shrinking 80s and up.

A great book, especially if it's long.

Free time.

The house in Florida.

When the first 10 mins of a film makes you so look forward to the rest of it.

And when the rest of it lives up to expectations.

Losing weight.

And, tragically and incompatibly, raspberry pavlova.

'Get Ready, Here I Come' by the Temptations (especially the aaahh-aaah-aaaah-aaah-AAAA-aaah' background vocs!)

Having a great idea, one of those that makes you bounce round the room, totally convinced of your own genius.

Going online and perving at sprawling, $15,000,000 houses in San Diego and Palm Beach.

Going to sleep.

I have Vista and really like it. I think the problem with Vista is this: It requires a lot of memory. If you have a computer made for other window's operating systems I think Vista doesn't work well on them. However if you buy a computer all ready with Vista on it.. It is good.

I love my computer, and 60 & 70's music, especially Motown and R&B

1. Buying a new book.
2. Having the money to buy a new book.
3. Cracking it for the first time and sticking my nose right in there for that new-book smell.
