We went to Cheesecake Factory last night for dinner. The rest of our party hadn't arrived yet, and my wife was in the restroom. I was sitting by myself in the waiting area. It was moderately noisy, and I don't hear that well out of my left ear. So, there are times I have trouble understanding what people say.

A server came up to me and said (and I have to repeat it as I heard it):

"If you didn't want to wait for a table, we do offer hot tub tables in the bar."

(That's exactly what it sounded like. "Hot tub tables.")

So, I said, "Hot tub tables?" I had never heard of such a thing, but I liked the sound of it.

Remaining completely serious, she said, "No, I mean High Top Tables in the bar."

I told her that we were waiting for the rest of our party, and we would have to wait for our regular table.

How disappointing. No Hot Tub Tables at Cheesecake Factory.

Hadn't realised it was the name of a Restaurant. Do you know why it's called the Cheesecake Factory?

You left out the best part of the story. What did you eat?

I love the food there, and ate at the Cheesecake Factory in Vegas in December.

I'm usually too full for cheesecake, though.

I had the fish and chips dinner, with enough fish to feed five people. I'm having the lefovers for lunch today. We didn't get any cheesecake, though.

We have a hot tub table at the HOL.

I like Cheesecake Factor (did you go to Kenwood, Allen?) but the food is too rich and they give you too much. I can only go there like once a year, most likely on my birthday.

Yeah, Kenwood Towne Center. (And the book signings I've done at their Waldenbooks have been awesome). We don't go to Cheesecake Factory very often, either. It's more for special events than anything.

I try to go later in the afternoon and get something off the lunch menu.

It's still a huge portion, but not as huge.

I still never have room for cheesecake, but hopefully everyone at the table will agree on a flavor and share a piece.

Ah, good times.

I think I'll start calling them hot tub tables though just to see people like Allen get excited. (I work at a Cheesecake Factory)

And yes, yummy food, but I don't eat it very often. The Miso Salmon is my favorite.
