Anne started the Weird names of town and cities thread, because we had a conversation about some funny sounding names of places. However I am sure all of you have run into someone with an unusual name.. Here are the two that stick out in my mind.

April Love (Love being her husband's last name, her parents didn't do that to her, her maiden name was a real long polish name ending in ski.

Toy Glasscock I know it sounds like a joke, but he showed me his ID when he came to work on the phone.

So let's hear yours...

All but one of those were in my high school. Must have been something in the water. Even though I hated my name I felt quite lucky, seeing how much worse it could get.

I was having lunch in a restaurant once with my mom when she said, "You'll never believe the name of my new gynecologist."

I was stunned.

Holding up a hand as if to quiet the band, she said, "Doctor Lipps! I swear to gawd. It's spelled with two p's, but isn't that funny?"

I love my mom, but she knows just how to embarrass me in public...

No, but I wish I did. My face came dangerously close to falling in the fettuccine Alfredo.

I always liked the idea of falling to into Annette Funicello.

In third grade I knew a kid named Peter Dunnett (not sure of the spelling) and Thomas Thomas.

I've known two guys named Charlie Brown who, although not related, looked remarkably alike.

On the back of an SUV in Vegas I saw "LaTonja, LaRonda, and Cheque".

I saw, while eating lunch watching one of those judge shows, a woman named 'Latrina'. Really. The girl's mother was there, too. If I'd been that judge, I'd have sentanced the mother for something. Latrina.

I wonder if her boyfriend calls her 'Latrina, lovie-poo. . .'

LOL....

Mr. Glasscock is a real cutie. I was working as a manager of an Inn and he came in to fix our pay phone. He was kind of flirthing with me, and he said "Do you know what my name is?" I said no of course... and then he showed me his name tag.

I had just watched a program on HBO the night before about glass dildo's. So I told him, yeah I heard they are suppose to be really good.

He gave me a funny look and I turned as red, blue and purple. I don't blush easy but I felt so em bare assed.. :) However I think that was his purpose.

There used to be a congressman from New Hampshire named Dick Swett, and no I'm not kidding.

Also I went to school with a woman called Kristen Greathead, and yes she was very popular amongst the men, but resented by the women.

Other names I know for a fact that actually exist, a few you've probably heard of:

- Ima Hogg, and her sister Ura Hogg
- Jack Ass
- Luke Sissyfag
- Duane Dropp
- Dweasel Zappa, and his sister Moon Unit Zappa
- Smokey Bacon
- Bitch Bang
- Rip Torn

And of course there's the German name Kuntz, which obviously is no big deal in Germany, but will get you a second look or two here in the states.

Oh yeah, "Dott Com", somebody recently had their name legally changed to that.

There is also "Yahoo Serious" from New Zealand, he changed it to that as a joke, and wound up keeping it.

Under the white face where you select smilies is a globe. Highlight the word(s) in your post, click on the globe icon and paste the URL inside. Now your link looks like this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Archibald_Clark_Kerr,_1st_Baron_Inverchapel).
