I can't choose. I liked too many of them. and for so many different reasons.

Loved Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, and Weird Science the most I guess, but still have fondness for several others.

hmmm, tough to choose one favorite or "best". Plus I haven't seen all of them.

Of those I've seen, my favorites are Mr. Mom and the first two Home Alones. I don't know if they'd be considered his best or not but I'm fondest of those.

That's an impressive body of work. Some of those are really great films. I've seen them all and loved many but I have a fondness for some of the wonderful lines and quirky characters in Sixteen Candles, so I voted for that one.

Oh wow - this is a tough question...

I'm seriously trying to project back & remember how I felt about all these pics at the time... and in so doing, I think the one that had the most impact on a generation at the time and still maintains a similar resonance would have to be this one:

"Screws fall out all the time, the world's an imperfect place." ~~ John Bender - The Breakfast Club

That's exactly how I chose and the same movie.

Without lamps, there'd be no light.

You gave me birth control pills? Do you know what that can do to a guy my age?

No but I know what it can do for a girl my age.

So what happened to John Hughes? Seriously? Look at that brilliant body of work. We could devote a thread to each movie and quote it for hours. Then suddenly, after the wildly successful Home Alone in 1990, he simply stopped trying:

Beethoven's 5th (2003) (V) (characters)
Maid in Manhattan (2002) (story) (as Edmond Dantès)
Home Alone 4 (2002) (TV) (characters)
Beethoven's 4th (2001) (V) (characters) (as Edmond Dantès)
Just Visiting (2001) (screenplay)
Beethoven's 3rd (2000) (V) (characters) (as Edmond Dantès)
American Adventure (2000) (TV) (characters)
Reach the Rock (1998) (written by)
Home Alone 3 (1997) (written by)
Flubber (1997) (screenplay)
101 Dalmatians (1996) (screenplay)
Miracle on 34th Street (1994) (screenplay)
Baby's Day Out (1994) (written by)
Beethoven's 2nd (1993) (characters) (as Edmond Dantès)
Dennis the Menace (1993) (written by)
Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992) (characters) (written by)
Beethoven (1992) (written by) (as Edmond Dantès)
Curly Sue (1991) (written by)
Dutch (1991) (written by)
Career Opportunities (1991) (written by)

At least you don't have to sleep under a Chinaman named after a duck's dork.
