View Full Version : January Blog Chain. Theme: "Writing"

THE LIST IS CLOSED. THANKS EVERYONE FOR JOINING IN! :)

Yeah, I'm adding a theme. Since, after all, this is a writer's site, I thought it would be appropriate. :) I'd like us to start next Sunday.

For the uninitiated, here's how it works.
As each person signs up (and provides me with the name of their blog and their blog URL), I put them in a list.
Once the list is closed, the person at the beginning starts with a post about writing.
As you write your entry, please remember to provide the permalink to the person's entry before you and link to the person after you.
When the post is up, that person posts in here to announce it's done and gives us the permalink and PMs the next person in line.
That next person takes some element from the first post and incorporates it into his or her own. Then s/he posts in here to announce it's done and PMs the next person in line, and so on.As well, I'll provide a list of all the blogs and participants. Please post that list to your blog. When the chain is over, I'll provide an updated list of links which provides the permalink for each post in the chain. Using the permalink will give us better ranking in Technorati and with search engines than a link to the main page. You can either post the updated list in a new entry or update the old entry. Either way is good.

Each of us who signs up here also agrees to comment on each and every post in the blog chain within a week of that post going up.

And that's about it. Any questions, let me know. :)

If you prefer the beginning, middle, or end, please let me know and I'll do my best to accomodate.

So, who's in? :D

---------------------------------------------------------

Here's the list of participants. The order can be changed, so please let me know if there's a problem. :) Also, please check to make sure I didn't make any mistakes - like, I put the wrong URL with the wrong person, or spelling mistakes, or the like. :)

MRasey, have you tried adding the code while in HTML view? It could be called code view or something similar at your blog host.

Also, please remember to provide the permalink to your post. There are also at least two others who have not yet provided permalinks, so please, all, double check and then provide. :)

I'll have the permalink list up in the next 24 hours.

L M Ashton

Here's the HTML code for the permalinks for the chain. Please remember to post this to your blog so that we all benefit from increased page rank, search results, Technorati rank, and so on. I like it when we all win. :)

It sure was a lot of fun. I'll post my final post on Thursday. Got to keep to my blog schedule. I feel like I keep falling behind with informative posts. I wonder if it's worth bumping my schedule up an extra day or two a week. Then again, I don't want to add too much pressure to perform no matter how many fantastic ideas I have for posts.

I had fun. Thanks for organising it Laurie!

A comment based on Jenn's final blog, art seems like a nice theme for a future one. People could talk about the art of writing if they wanted, but it'd open it up for ramblings on other arts and crafts.
