Here's something I was wondering, as I was attempting to justify shoe-horning certain weekly goals I'd set into tomorrow's "to do" list:

Sunday's the week-end, right? Says so right there in the dictionary. (I think, haven't bothered to look it up.) And yet, if you look at almost any calendar, it inevitably starts the new line for a week.

WHY?

I got to thinking that perhaps it had something to do with church and religion, but even that made no sense to me. Biblically, it is the 7th day, right? (Unless there's been some major re-write of Genesis I'm unfamiliar with. Admittedly, it's been a while since I attended church. :) )

Now, I don't NEED to know this... at least not for any practical, purposeful, job or writing related reason.

And yet... once I started thinking about it, it began to bug me. Anyone have the answer? :flag:

I always thought it was because the Biblical Sabbath was a Saturday, so logically, the seventh day is followed by the first day - Sunday.

Me? I say the week starts on a Monday anyway.
