If you participated in last weekend's picks thread, include your record in your post... and we'll perhaps crown a champ at the end of all this wonderful madness.

Last week I came out 3-1. This week's selections:

Packers 27
Seahawks 17

Patriots 34
Jaguars 13

Colts 24
Chargers 10

And my upset...
Giants 20
Cowboys 17

Yanno, I read a sports writer's comment today that the Seahawks will win a Superbowl when hell freezes over.

It snowed in Bagdad today.

:sigh:

You guys do know that the Cowboys are coming into this Sunday's game with all their starters completely healthy and they're playing at home, right?

Cowboys 38
Giants 24

Jaguars 21
Patriots 17

Packers 31
Seahawks 10

Colts 35
Chargers 20

That's right. I predicted the Pats will lose. You heard it here first.

I was late to the party last week so two of my right ones don't count. Technically then I 1/2.

Here's this week :

Packers 31
Seattle 17
Packers are at home. it's wicked cold, the packers have an awesome running game...Seattle, not so much ;)

Pats 35
Jags 24
Pats can't stop the running game that well, but will dominate.

Colts 27
Chargers 10
Colts are going to slaughter the chargers.

Cowboys 24
Giants 14 (probably 10)
While the Giants played well last week, the Cowboys will dominate this game at home. I see defensive picks...poor Eli actually crying.

The hubby and I are having ribs today, psyching up for the foozball! Bobby Boucher all the way!

Packers beat Seahawks.

Favre (playing very well) at Lambeau? It's a gimme.

Jaguars beat Patriots.

At least, I hope this is what happens. Then, I can laugh at the Patriots. The Jaguars have a great shot and now seems like the time - expect Maurice Jones-Drew to get 100 rushing yards and a TD.

Colts beat Chargers.

The only reason the Chargers sqweaked by the Colts earlier this season is because Manning threw 6 INTs. Manning will not throw half that many INT's, Colts win nicely.

Cowboys beat Giants.

Giants are on a roll (supposedly) but I just don't care about any of that - their supposed "roll" includes losing 2 of their last 3 regular season games. The Cowboys are the better team.

The Packers have won 42-20. It appears my prediction of a score of 31-10 was a bit too conservative.

Ah, I can't wait for the Pats to lose tonight.

Ah, I can't wait for the Pats to lose tonight.

You just hold on to that, sugar ;)

Pats all the way. It's looking like a close game, but come on...the Pats are a machine.

ETA: Pats 31, Jags 20. OOOH, that feels good.
So far 2/2 and close on the spread.

The first half looked so promising.

Oh well, Colts Bolts will get 'em next week.

Now that was a fun football day. Days like that remind me what's so depressing about watching bad football. <coughredskinscough>

Both teams I wanted to see advance prevailed, but even if they hadn't it was such superior talent out there. I hope today is that good, although it feels like that may be asking a lot. But I love me some Peyton Manning.

I am SOOOOOOOOO nervous about the Colts game on right now, but not as so because I have complete trust in the Colts!

That's my HOME TEAM, baby!!!

Whoa, color me surprised. Peyton's frantic scramble on that last fourth and five was tragic...
Oh well. The hubby is happy -- he hates the Colts (but he's from Boston and it's ingrained) while I actually think Peyton is cool...6'4", laser rocket arm...I mean if you go for those kinds of things ;)

I'm nervous about the Chargers/Pats match up next week. I guess that's what beer and xanax are for!

Nice picks, William...

Refusing comment on Foinah's nervousness about the Chargers coming into town... Though my location says California, my avatar says far more, so really, how could I be objective?

EVEN THOUGH we lost............Colts are and forever will be one of the best teams in NFL history. We still hold the title of Super Bowl champions. We're one of the TRUE teams in professional football, and well-respected. No, I won't get off my high-horse because I speak the truth, and it's not just because they are my hometown team. Colts have all my respect as well as a million others.

Mostly, a good year for teams with cool (i.e. classic) helmets. Packers, Giants, Chargers... at least the Pats' helmets are better than the old ones.

Colts, Bears, Vikings, Browns, Saints and Chiefs always have next year to look forward to.

Wait - Billy, isn't that a pic of the infamous non-sack sack when Favre took a dive just so Strahan could get the record?!

Agreed - all hail Mr. Haskins and his perfect record for the week > me hailing >:Hail:

The Giants are road warriors on a roll.
The Pack will be at Lambeau in January.
The Chargers are showing surprising grit.
And the Pats are being the Pats...

Tune in next week for the Championship Weekend Thread!

P.S. Oh, and Tater? Thanks for the compliment... but I was off by a point, so really, I'm not all that wise!

But that's exactly what I meant! The Bears helmets are excellent. But they're done for the year; they're one of the other teams with great helmets who haven't had such success this year. I thought I was being complimentary. Then again, I'm known for being a hard-ass.

Oh, wait - I'm not? Quelle surprise!

Well, shit, my picks are 1-3.

Since the teams I pick tend to lose, I'm going to choose the Pats & the Giants to win next week, that way the Godwin Curse will insure that they lose.

Really, I am not sure it is fun to laud it over the rest of the league anymore. Well, not until we complete 19-0. I will have THAT for the rest of my life.

For next week:

Packers - 27 Giants - 20

Patriots - 31 Chargers - 20

I will offer insightful analysis of each game later in the week upon request.

That leaves a Pack v. Pats Superbowl where I will have my revenge for the last time we played in the big game. (That, and my parents are from Wisconsin and they would castrate me if I did not root for the Pack, that is, unless they are playing the Pats.)

Did you folks actually believe that the Jags had a chance? Or was your unfounded hatred and jealousy clouding your picks?

I just keep hoping that justice will prevail and the cheaters will finally get theirs.
