I got these from the About.com Fiction Writing website - http://fictionwriting.about.com They have a listing of contests by month. These might be worth looking into.

Kudzu Fiction Contest -- February 1

Low Fidelity Press Novella Award -- February 2008
AWAITING 2008 INFO. "At the request of skimpy novelists and bloated short story authors the whole world over, Low Fidelity Press is sponsoring The Second Biennial Novella Award. Low Fidelity will publish the winning novella -- and perhaps, down the line, esteemable runners-up -- as a stand-alone trade paperback book and award the author a $1,000 advance."
