A thread solely for ScarletPeaches to update us on the life and time of her WIP on the AlphaWhatzit Neo. Encouragement welcomed. And yes, I'm singling her out because her honeymoon phase with the Neo is ending, so, she might need a pick-me-up from you (and cuz I;m THAt sorta mod -- cuddly with soft fur and dimples and such). And feel free to use this every day until she finishes. Or for anyone for that matter.

So, what's up? :)

Yay! A thread all about my favourite person! :TheWave:

I'm just updating as we speak...

Total Neo wordcount - 34,127.

Total this year - 9,787.

You like me! You really like me! :D

Or else, "Quick, someone - give her a thread, or she'll break our brains going on about the damn Neo wotsit!"

Oh, and I don't know what my day's word count is, something like 2k I guess. But I just keep a tally for DAE - I'm aiming for 50k or thereabouts - and my yearly target. A quarter mill in 2008. I'm ahead there so I should do it.

She said, tempting fate...

Here's my DAE progress:

and my 2008 target is coming along nicely, too:

Ooh, look at me, posting progress meters - I are clever! :D

And which side of the bed does the Neo sleep on? ;)

scarletpeaches

Dammit - you got me!

It has the whole bed. I just kip on the floor in front of the door...so if a burglar breaks in, I get in first and the Neo gets to make a break for it...

I have my priorities sorted.

Ha! At last - four out of the eight files on the Neo full, which means I could probably fit 75k onto it without touching the spare memory - and I didn't even know it had any! Apparently you can shunt files from the workspaces into the 'background' and call them up again later. Splendid!

Anyway...for anyone who's having trouble sleeping, today's progress meters:

Yes. But what about when the Neo wants to spoon with you?

I will not let a random word processor send me any files unless we're married.

Please come talk to our teenaged population in the southern US. This is a good message for them.

Always fill in the guarantee card. And never muck around with someone else's installation disk unless you've installed anti-virus software.

That's a different message.

So, how is the display on your eyes? Give us a walk through in sensory proportions.

Oh, we're being sensible now are we? Fair enough. :D

I use it set to the default font, which is four lines visible on the screen. You can set it anywhere from 2-6. 6 is probably equivalent to what you see on the screen when you post on AW. 2 is this big.

I like that you can't see the whole page of text at once, only 2-6 lines. It stops me going back and editing, which is probably why I'm rushing towards the end faster than even I had hoped! I just copied everything onto my laptop for back-up and am still feeling proud that I've filled 4/8 workspaces in the time I've been a Neowner. ;)

Or, what they call at the Hustler store, $129.99.

Hours of fun adding rude words to the dictionary, too!

Today I taught my Neo to accept the words bugger, bloody and outline. :D

Outline being the worst of the three. In Mauritania, I hear that's actually a curse. :)

I tried to teach it to accept the words, "Dan Brown deserves a Pultizer," but the damn thing made a strange mechanical coughing noise at me and shut down.

Funny. AP reported that Brown's agent did the exact same thing.

:hooray:

I just whizzed past the 40k barrier on Dark-Adapted Eyes.

Well spank my ass and call me Charlie if The End isn't in sight!
