Hi good folks,

Trouble in meatspace will be keeping me from my favorite place--AW--for a few weeks. I shall miss all of you and be back as soon as possible. Well, all except.... NO--let's leave it at the nice version: I shall miss ALL of you.

MeerMoggy, you know you shouldn't let meatspace get in the way!

But if you must, I suppose we'll have to pick on another furry member.

hmmm... Haggis it is.

What's wrong with Reality? Real Time? Real life? Physical world?

They are all far too painful to think about.

What's wrong with Reality? Real Time? Real life? Physical world?

Well, as long as we are awake and mostly sane we are in REALITY. whether we are posting, blogging or walking down the street, although if we are posting we are stepping into VIRTUALITY

And taking the above statement at face value Real Time means right now. I am already posting in REAL TIME.

I am Posting in Cyber Space in REAL TIME.

However CYBER SPACE is a VIRTUAL Place and we have no corporeal existance there, nor, due to the current level of physics (Second Life Aside) is it possible to have a true corporeal existance in CYBERSPACE.

Therefore, since my body is sitting in this chair carrying on its various biological functions as my mind romps around AW and other places inthe world, in REALITY, my body is in REAL TIME doing REAL LIFE things it is taking up space while my mind romps.

But at the SAME TIME in the same REALITY in the same REAL TIME I am at AW in my virtual state.

That in itself can make the term 'Reality' confusing.

BodySpace is really too esoteric and 'New Age' a term to be adequately employed to describe the space in which my body (meat sack as it were) exists while my mind is free.

OK?
(Besides all of the IT wizards like the phrase and if we upset them they will crash our computers, stranding us there..or here, depending on where you are.)

I miss my Meer already!!!!!!

Thanks kind folks--I am back sporadically now. Although I cannot even begin to get caught up with the important happenings here. So I'll just go with what I imagine is happening: Haggis is "accidently" locked in the trunk of the car of whichever AW member drew the short straw to do the deed. Ben has finally run out of material and is asking folks in various forums to pull his finger. Lady Jay has not yet washed her christmas sweatshirt even once, despite the hints that grow less and less subtle to do so. And all of the poetry work has gravitated to the single theme of "Nantucket." Does that about sum everything up?

And thank you all, for your kind thoughts!

It's only January 22.....the shirt isn't even a month old and you want me to WASH it????

It can't even stand up by itself......
......
.......
yet.

Meerkat
01-22-2008, 08:50 PM
I don't want you to wash it Lady Jay--it's the others. I'm just the messenger. I think it's just fine--take it from somebody who has frequently spent weeks at a time downrange, without showers. Yep, just fine as it is.

Unique

I think it's fine, Jay.

But don't ask me either; I'm the one who did the experiment with the green fatigues down in Biloxi.

3 weeks in the summer and they still don't smell? How'd you do that?

And what kind of deodorant was I using at the time? :roll:I don't remember.

Meerkat - watch out for the starch. Jay has a thing about stuff like that. ;)
