How are you seeing in the new year? A couple of friends of ours are having a fancy dress party, but instead, we're going for a meal and then a drink. I get the vibe off a few mates that we've...offended isn't the right word, but something close...our friends by not going to their party. The thing is it will be the fourth consecutive new year fancy dress party we've had and while I know it will be a good time, it will be exactly the same good time we've had for four years.

So, how are you celebrating tomorrow night?

I'm not. I'll get home from work around 6, and I'll be staying in, watching DVDs because Hogmanay telly is shite.

I have a huuuuge living room with an old wood floor, perfect for dancing. Having friends in, with a somewhat fancy buffet and rocking out to (mostly) old rock and roll.

What's even sweeter is I have Ne'erday off work, which a lot of people would kill for, and I'm not even going to be hungover - and they will. Ha! :D

I will be revising my plans for world domination since this year didn't turn out as well as I had hoped. :D

two wild rice casseroles
homemade scalloped potatoes
assorted salads
assorted wines/fancy beers

chocolate torte
a five-layer white cake with sparkly decorations

My list of ingredients for tomorrow:
  1. Get up at 7am for work, starting at 9am.
  2. Until 5pm, try to do as little as possible, while perhaps telling the managers to suck my fat one, 'cause it's my last week there.
  3. Get home by 6pm, put the kettle on, get changed into my pyjamas.
  4. Watch a DVD, probably Gladiator.
  5. Have dinner.
  6. Watch another DVD. The English Patient, maybe, or Dangerous Liasions.
  7. Biscuits.
  8. Cake.
  9. Drink lots of tea.
  10. Go to bed.

We're having a couple of friends over and will listen to music, eats yummy finger foods, drink a little bit, maybe play cards or a board game and toast my daughter (the kiddies will have sparkling cider) at some point - it's her ninth birthday.

I shall be sitting at home and writing on new year's eve. I'll be making a home made quiche, to take to my mum's for new year's day, between the writing too.

I hate new year's eve... All of those silly farts, who don't know what the inside of a pub normally looks like, all seem to come out to the pubs n.y.e and make them over-crowded for the regulars.
I don't like over-crowded places, so would much rather have a quiet night indoors and doing the things I enjoy. Much better than watching drunken bums making fools of themselves and throwing up all over the place :D

I'll be over, Nerds. I'll even bring wine. *pours the box wine into a bottle* And I'll bring beer. *pours Milwaukee's Best into an Amstel bottle* And I'll bake some chocolate chip toffee cookies. *puts Entemann’s cookies on a plate* Is there anything else you want me to bring. :D

In is totally the new out for us 30somethings. The same gang of friends who've spent 15 NYEs together will gather at our place tomorrow for nice food, wine and conversation where we can hear each other think. Yay! Last year we got a new friend - she was two weeks old on NYE and the only person to puke all night :) This year I'm guessing she'll be the only one crawling around on the floor...

Does no one want to come to my pyjama-and-DVD party? :(

I've only gone out on Hogmanay once. Didn't see what the fuss was about. If I wanted to be surrounded by drunks trying to slobber all over me, I'd...well, I'd go out any night in Dundee.

Me and Mr. Susie will just stay home, eat a super dinner that howie makes and then watch Dicky Clark and the TV ball at 12:00 pm. Oh, year, and of course, kiss. *Smoochies* to y'all and Happy New year.

I'll be passed out for sure. I'm working all through tonight and all day tomorrow, so unless I want to stay up and watch imaginary creepy crawlies walking around my bedroom, I'll be getting some sleep, thank you very much.
