I missed the entire run when it aired and am pondering picking up the DVD set. Is it any good? How does it compare to the Hercules, Xena, and Conan TV series?

It sucks majorly.

No, really, it's bloody awful, though there's potential there for a drinking game . . .

Of course, those of us who watched it soley for Heath Ledger can't recommend it enough. I don't know how historically accurate it was or wasn't (nor do I care), but I found it entertaining and watchable.

Argh. Their costumes always looked brand new.

This was a guilty pleasure of mine. Still is. Yes, I admit, I liked it. I didn't watch for its historical value (of which it has none :tongue) and did watch it for a very young Heath Ledger, but it was still entertaining to me.

I couldn't get past the first episode. I remember this scene where Heath's character was in trouble and charging to his aide from a mile away, just like John Cleese's Lancelot from the Holy Grail, comes his warrior clans-bro. School kids could have pelted him with sticks and stones long before he got in a single lick.

That and the poorly disguised "Star Wars" Force/ Roar thing going on. Blah!
