Posting Attachments

What does it take to be able to post attachments? I keep getting this:

You may post new threads
You may post replies
You may not post attachments
You may edit your posts

Attachments were disabled months ago because of the amount of server bandwidth space they take up.

That's a good question. The only way I know how is to have the attachment off site, like at PhotoBucket, and post the image from there. But I see members sharing images all the time from countless websites, and I have no idea how they do it.

I've been meaning to ask also, but I'd rather folks think I know everything.

Links are different. At one time there was a radio button in the reply window to upload attachments from your computer but it's no longer there. Mods can still post attachments but it has to be from a URL now.

So when people are putting pictures on the threads, those are not attachmens?

Thanks for the responses. That's what I was confused about. I've seen a lot of posts with pictures in them and thought those were the attachements. Didn't realize you could copy and paste a photo in a post. I haven't seen a forum where you could do that before. Thanks again!
