I mean, everybody likes this movie. And railroad fans love it.

Everyone, but me.

First off, I didn't get the story. I didn't get Tom Hanks doing multiple characters. I didn't get the bizarreness of the plot and the weird things happening in and on the train.

And the characters showed no emotion on their faces. When they were angry, sad, happy, or whatever, it was always the same expression. I just couldn't accept that. I mean, I know it's computer animation, but still . . . .

But everyone loves it. I don't know why.

I loved it.

But yeah, as fantastic as the animation was, the people sometimes come across as creepy. But that's what I thought about the little animated Rudolph Christmas special when I was a kid...especially Yukon Cornelius.

My daughter says she can't stand the animated claymation Christmas specials. They creep her out.

I didn't mind Polar Express but I don't think it expanded very well into a full length movie when it would have been fine as a half hour TV special. The animation was okay, but the characters could have used more expression.

Seen it. Liked it. The rest of you have a dead inner child rotting underneath your navel.

Not that there's anything wrong with that...

I loved it. When I saw it the first time I proclaimed it (and I actually think I proclaimed it. Aloud) the best Christmas movie I'd ever seen.

But yeah, very creepy eyes. Never really thought about it until now.

You all have ruined a Christmas tradition at the Lavender house. Thanks a lot. :D

YOU don't like the Rudolph special? Are you serious?? Probably the high point of the Rankin-Bass dynasty??

You didn't shed even the hint of a tear when Rudolph leaps into the air for the first time?

"She thinks I'm C-U-U-TE!!"

To quote Vizinni, "That's inconcievable!"

the sporting capital of the world. Oh! That's Melb
I tried to watch Polar Express 4 times and each time I found it insipid and self-aggrandising. No that's going too far. Insipid then. No soul. No joy.

No divine inspiration - nothing that would change me as a person for the better and make me go out and create something wonderful.

The movie "Shine" has that affect on me. Polar Express - a poor expression of the genius of Hanks.

Only seen parts of it, but I found it creepy. And my inner child is a live and well loving Rudolph, thank you very much.

Please keep your questionable animal escapades in the dark where they belong, please. :tongue

I've never seen The Polar Express.

I do like Rudolph. And Yukon Cornelius. "This fog is as thick as peanut butter. You eat what you like, I"ll eat what I like."
