I don't know if I could play on a different server, how elitist is that?

And I know what you mean about the gf... my best friend gets all my good finds and gold too;) (Although I just blew about 800 gold on armor and some nifty shiny things)

Although for a horde character I may be inclined to pop over to a different server....hmmm...

count me in as a maybe. I'll go browse the server and see what's up there.

I did the ten day free trial, got very bored and wandered off to read a lovely book by Christopher Golden.

'Tis most repetitious.

(Cast polymorph to pull troll. Step back twenty steps so the rest of the trolls don't mob my little gnome mage. Hurl fireballs and icebolts and arcane blasts at charging troll. Step forward twenty steps. Lather rinse repeat.)

Also, the quests were well-scripted, but poorly written, and often had very little to do with each other. It was more like cramming in as many quests into an area as possible than it was about telling a story with quests.

Blah. No thanks. Time better spent reading, writing, exploring World of Texas on my mount: epic bicycle!

Then why did you post here? Bart is looking for players, not naysayers.

I have the disk sitting on my coffee table becuasue my husband's friend wants my husband to play. I would probably like it but don't have time.

I post here because WoW is a very big time drain for more than a few writers I know, and I want to discourage the uninitiated from pursuing this.

And who died and made you the keeper of everyone at AW?

ETA- To badducky! Well if you are more like a Grumpy Uncle than shall I fix you an eggnog and kill you with kindness?

My nephew plays that game. He's on level fifty-six. If you want to PM your handle, I'll ask him to look you up. Keep in mind that if he pillages all of your recourses, don't blame it on me. :D

I refuse to play WoW becuase I don't want CPS to take my kids. I am that kind of obsessive.

Seriously though, I really do know a guy who's girlfriend dumped him becuase of that game. They got back together you know, once he quit.

Heh, me too. No online gaming for me. No video games in the house, no computer games either. (Well, there are some on my computer, but I don't mess with them.) My discussion board addictions are bad enough. I can just see getting caught up in WoW.

Becuase none of us waste our time, say, at discussion boards. :D

Hey, I've got a couple tabs open in my toolbar, and I'm writing on another screen right now. When I get in a word jam and need a momentary breather, I tab over to share my loquacious and gracious wisdom with all of y'all.

Can't do that in WoW.

Also, how many time drains can hard-working authors handle?

Isn't your dozen distractions enough? Why make it a baker's dozen?

I'm glad I peeked behind the curtain to see what all the hype was about, but I'll take my MMORPG filtered through Charlie Stross, thank you very much.

I play, but very rarely. It's almost not worth keeping the account alive but I do so love my little dwarves, even if I only see them once or twice a month.
