"Gadgets and gimmicks, featured in the Holiday 2007 SkyMall catalog, prove without a doubt that the human race is going straight to Hell"

6. Freddie Mercury Action Figure - $45 (http://www.skymall.com/shopping/detail.htm?pid=102517394) I couldn't decide whether to laugh or cry when I saw this. Poor dead Fred, here with ball-jointed neck and articulated shoulders for your bending pleasure. A motion sensor (hidden God knows where) triggers a medley of classic Queen songs. And I hate to have to tell you, but there's also a Kurt Cobain figure. COURTNEY, YOU WHORE!!!

Ooo oo I want the Jack Sparrow one. I've always wanted my own Johnny Depp.

How about a Janis Joplin doll that passes a bottle of Southern Comfort?

The Hammacher Schlemmer magazine (where SkyMall gets most of its ridiculously expensive, utterly useless crap) just kills me. I look at it just for fun...all the items have "The" in front of their titles, like they're the only one in the world, which I suspect is supposed to justify their existence and price.

But...

I did, I confess, once briefly consider buying a solar powered, spiral-shaped, squirrel-proof bird feeder that spun rapidly whenever something heavy enough landed on it. There was a hilarious demonstration picture.

Especially if we could designate just which 'action' we'd like our 'action figure' to perform. :D

Well, if Freddy Mercury's has a motion sensor ... you know.

Simple supply and demand solution. ;-)
