If you know me a little, you know I'm not the sentimental type, although there's a kernel of that in me (and you). But every year since they've done it, the local newspaper's list of things the people in the community are thankful for (http://www.democratandchronicle.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20071122/LIVING/711220304/1032) contains several that I find moving, sometimes to tears.

(I still get blinky-eyed at last year's My grandson can breathe good and She's not in pain now. Bet the stories behind them are something, huh?)

The parameters are simple.
You must be able to express it in five words or less.
It can be anything, whether personal and profound or simple and joyous.
You cannot use specific names, but you can identify people by relationship, such as mother, teacher, etc.

Ruling out AW, since there's already a thread on that, what are you thankful for? Non-Americans and others not celebrating Thanksgiving are welcome to join in.

Maryn, thankful for all kinds of stuff
