My novel that I have been working on has a Cajun protagonist. Now, I've read a wealth of information on every aspect that I can think of, but this novel is also historical and so information I need is more sparse.

Anyone here know of where I could find info on the culture? Not modern, though, and it would be ideal if I could find an expert on this. I'd also say "ideally, is there a Cajun member on this site?", but that doesn't ensure first-hand experience of life a hundred years ago. :)

Talk about difficulty in obtaining information. True, I got enough for story, but not authenticity.

Try searching the University of Louisiana, Lafayette web site and see if they have a Cajun expert or a Cajun history course. They're in the heart of Cajun country. When we lived there 25 years ago, Cajun French was still the first language of a lot of people I worked with.
