Take lots of no-mess snacks, nothing liquid until you pass security, plenty of crayons/coloring books. Favorite blanket/toy, extra shirt for you and them (in case of... turbulence) do you have a portable DVD player?

Make sure to run them ragged before you get on the plane, drink plenty of water, bring something for them to suck on for takeoff/landings and DO NOT STRESS OUT about mean people who give you the eye - just teach the baby to blow them kisses.

No sugar / juice before the flight
Get to the airport early and let them run around and get their energy out
Coloring books / crayons (let them carry their own backpacks with their stuff)
And of course the child-sized vodka you can buy on the plane!

Crayons and paper, or a Magna-Doodle type drawing toy.

A small grab bag of toys. Make a run to the nearest dollar store, so they'll be new and therefore (hopefully) more interesting, plus not expensive so who cares if they accidentally get left behind.

A favorite "lovie", a blanket or whatever, in case they get upset.

These are things I bring with me whenever we take our boys on a flight, a restaurant, or the doctor's office. Anywhere we really need them to behave but the circumstances may not be child-friendly.

If they have a couple of favorite books, or perhaps a new one or two that you can quietly read to them and cuddle a bit.
All my other ideas are already covered. Stay positive and happy. You'll have a great flight and a great Thanksgiving.

Just don't let them say, "Bye-bye, plane," or you'll be removed from the flight.

You might also want to consider taking some paper along for you to write on -- have them make the story and you write it down. Then they can make some pictures to go with it and you can copy it all and give it out as Christmas presents to grandparents.

Rent a private jet.

A trick I have learned is to run out and get a few small new toys. I have found that one NEW toy an hour provides lots of entertainment. So each hour open something new per child. We've done 30 hour car trips that way with two young ones (over a 2 day period) and survived. Doesn't have to be anything earth shattering... just the novelty of the new toy seems to work wonders!

Take separate flights.

Oh Turkey, I hope everything goes well for you. There was a family with a two small children on my flight yesterday and I didn't hear one peep the entire flight. I even saw the flight attendant heating bottles during the flight, so I think some of your success might hinge on how nice your crew is.

Duct tape, tie wraps and bondo. Oh yeah, and teach them how to coyly flip the bird at any adult who sucks their teeth or rolls their eyes at them.
