...but I'm so happy!

I got rejected by Slate this morning. I just submitted last night. I'm so grateful for the fast turnaround, I wanted to email her a "thank you!" right back. But, don't worry, I resisted the urge. It must be tedious indeed to be an editor and have submitters think you are their new best friend.

Plus, I'm always grateful for the opportunity to use that banana.

Plus, I turned that submission right around and shipped it out again today!

three seven! You saw through my ploy. It is all about you. I just wanted to lure you over here so I could ask you personally to pop over to "Share Your Work" and look at my piece "Tear it up." :D

Just kidding. It's not really about three seven. It's about anyone, ANYONE!!

That forum is verrrrrrrry quiet these days. I'm not getting much input. I tried to change the title to something more enticing, but the board won't let me.

Me too! I love quick rejections too. That's why I'm so happy that the same essay has been rejected twice since I started this thread! (Chronogram.com, "Not accepting submissions;" McSweeneys.com, "Liked it, but not our typa thing.") Yippee. Now I'm desparately seeking another quick turnaround market. One that would accept it would be nice too. Suggestions?

It's an essay about Ward Churchill. I take the stance that he's a buffoon.
