"We always [hear about] the abuse of children and wives in households, which is easily perceived by the eye, but the emotional abuse of men cannot be seen," Nik Abdul Aziz said. "Our prayers become unfocused and our sleep is often disturbed."

Nik Abdul Aziz has made controversial comments about women in the past, including that women should stop wearing lipstick and perfume to lower the risk of being raped.

Ah yes. The men can't control themselves argument. I have to say this one really gets my dad in a white hot rage, he isn't much of a fan of being considered someone with no self control, so pathetic.

It's absurd.

It's also utterly ridiculous to paint all Muslims with what one idiot says, in the thread title -- so I've edited it.

Don't do it again, Neal. It's akin to saying all Christians believe what Pat Buchanan preached.

Mac, please clarify. Are you saying that if I posted a thread titled "Pat Robertson makes yet another controversial statement" with a link to a news story about, say hurricanes being God's wrath on the wicked, that would be unacceptable?

No, I'm saying if you posted a thread with the title "Christians believe Katrina was God's judgement on Fags" THAT would be unacceptable, because you'd be implying that all Christians believed that.

The original title of the thread was Lipstick and Perfume drives Muslims wild.

Not that I don't appreciate a compliment, but . . .I don't get it! Sorry!

I think Meerkat thought you were being intentionally and amusingly contradictory: someone getting in a white hot rage at being told he can't control himself. I noticed that, too, but maybe it was unintentional. Kind of a funny image though. :)
