:welcome: I visit these forums all the time yet seldom reply until now. I've been working hard on my poetry book called "Globe Island." My book has been accepted for publication by a well known publisher.

Anyway I would like to show you some poems that come from Globe Island.
I have selected 10 poems for you to look at. I'll add up to 20 more in the coming days. The book itself contains 120 poems on various themes.

Please let me know what you think of the poems so I can get a better understanding of how they will be reiceved.

Angel Aeon

Heaven’s star soars
In the gracious sky
Arched silk wings
Swish delicate stroke
Birds simulate emotional cackle
As they fly
How I am breathless
Amazed as I choke
Angel of calling
Caresses velvet clouds with flute
Spoiled wildlife comes out of shadows
To bask in glory
Fauna harbours cruel intentions
With charm, they salute
Sparkling light of blissful appraisal
Is Alpha Centauri
Are your feathers
Ever ruffled out of place
By man’s commitment
To seek savage war?
From their embarrassment
I shelter my face
Your essence of proof
Rattles bones with awe!
You deserve genuine respect
For redemption and solving tears
May all the earthly nations
Seek peace in mortality’s years?
Atom Matrix

The fabric chains of unison
Were sewn before time
Inheriting the smallest grain
In an ocean of space
Structure of interlocking magic
Envisaged by the divine
Infinity sleeps in the palm
Of your hands with heritage trace
All life would awaken
To a united notion of worth
We the created
Link together through atom’s eminence
Atomic matrix affixes us all to everything
Across the earth
Sharing a singularity soul
Within the universe conducts luminance
Holding form tight
Entwined with gravities grip
Sorcery is the science
Of the Lord’s majestic might
May universal law
Exist forever more for worship
Atom chain reaction
Connects koala to the tree at night
O’ 360 degree rotational sphere
Of atom’s All Seeing Eye
Are you born of consciousness
To answer the questions why?
Fawkes Fuse
Conspirators of a new democracy
Hid in shadows
Waiting for an opportunity
To strike at the core
Apathy of government takes control
When immorality shows
Gunpowder Plot was declaration
Of brutal war
Barrels of deadly payload
Laid under the chamber
Oblivious to a faction
Government seethed mistrust
Law pigs consulted
Society’s clear and present danger
Outcasts of doctrine
Played hand for broke or bust
Captured with moments to go
Before fuse was lit
Guy had failed the test
For the dawn of a new age
Outlandish bureaucracy
Served a death warrant hit
Miserable death
Did he die a hero in the cage?
A master plan
Of tomorrow
Was sabotaged
And spoiled
Loose lips
Of traitor’s circle
Allowed the scheme
To be foiled

Gladiator

Barren sun glares down
On parch sand
African slave uprooted
From his home
Confined to manacles
Heading for Arena Grand
Market stalls of fabric
And meat litter Rome
Pacifist combatant stirs nervously
In the holding cell
Crowd cheers of blood lust
Echoes around the pit
Decapitated carcasses lay strewn
In the theatre of hell
Theatre’s door opens
And charmless sun does hit
Shaking in terror as thousands
Chant a death chorus
Slave of freedom lost
Adapts to predicament of fears
Born to be a contender
He lets aggression become porous
Gladiator of residence
Was hacked to pieces
Slave shed no tears
Many more opponents
Challenge him in the Ring of carnage
To their life removal
The Slave’s victories
Are etched on rocky walls
And he gains Caesar’s approval

LastHand

A saloon packed to the rafters with scum
Poker was in play with brew on the table
Hookers shepherded gentlemen to iniquity of slum
Horses waited for their master riders in the stable
Stench followed breath as gamblers piled the bet
Chewing tobacco and cigar smoke staled the air
Every game hand from rivals was a potential threat
Speechless as toes twitched with eyes that glared
Opposition threw down cards with victory in sight
The kid held back waiting for maximum shock
Cowboys touched guns, pre-emptive to a fight
Billy emulated with his finger of the pendulum clock
Kid laid down his hand to prove the rush
Silenced in the frenzy there sat a royal flush
Meat Me
I live in the free field
Parts of me exist in many a shop
I have no choice but to yield
When I drop
A bolt gun to the head
Electricity shoots through my veins
I’d prefer a humane death instead
Then they proceed to scope out my brains
The butcher has his way
My torn remains are in pieces
For the public I’m on display
At my death my terror was shown in pheicies
I would embrace another green field day
With my clan
How long will my kind last
If it’s left in the hands of man
Sea Siren
Traitor’s grip
Commanded the birthplace of man
Africa sold for a pittance
For a poisonous divided plan
People feared the stranglehold
Of being born bondage slave
Emotions sank into the quicksand
When hate kissed the grave
Spiritual land of the damned
Tremor’d with soul ache
Minority controlled majority
Usual fate of heartbreak
Galleon ships bulged with piles of folk
They were heading for captivity
To wash ashore
For inbred renegade minds
Who lacked moral decency
Shackled chains tied together
Of Cargo meat
At sea in the Atlantic
Was the heretic fleet
No salvation for despised skin
To which church’s decreed
Barbarically treated
Whispering prayers to be freed
Salt sea mist combined the stench
Of vomit aboard the wood
Commander shall receive
His princely sum
For being irrelevant to good
Song of the harp echoed aloud
To the sea faring crowd
A beautiful Mermaid lured them all
With a Ballard for the proud
Shocked, stunned Sailors
Attracted to the Siren of the Sea
Thought they were charmed
For all their hostility
With all eyes on spectacle
All following flock
Ship steered off course
And veered into a gigantic rock
Everyone went overboard
And shame was swallowed
Up by disgrace
The Siren of great deceiving
Sent them to an
Oceanic time and space
All the hijacking soul terrorists
And slaves
Drowned in the water
King Trident telepathically
Issued an order
To his peoples and daughter
Every immortal of the lost city
Gathered up the chained dead
They breathed life back into the lungs
Via the holes in their head
Manacles of oppression are unlocked
And the slaves regained freedom
Reborn into eternity of equality
They acceded to the paradise of heirdom
Way down on the rocky surfaces’
On the ocean’s Seabed floor
Magical Mer spells excite
Legs into flippers
Forever they’ll remain
Deity’s at Soul’s core
Taken to a new home
Of utopian delights
Atlantis sparkled glory
Of unparalleled heights

Season Tree

Leaves pile street mire
Moss spreads on branches arm
Glorious is flower bud sapphire
Wilt in autumn temporary loss of charm
Naked witches tree of winter’s dismay
Swaying to amuse in the howling wind
Robin’s nest of twig wonder on display
Cracked bark reveals sap skinned
Blossoming flowers of Spring’s delight
Golden dawn lightens work of a Bee
Mayflies swamp whisper tree at night
Illustrious colours blend by bridges quay
Timber down jolly tree of season
Stealing earth’s oxygen is liable treason
The Kid
A barren desolate desert
Cactus soaked land
A young isolated man
Crashed to his knees
Scorpion’s sweltered
On the heat baked sand
Parched throat
His body seethed with disease
The Earth Tremor’d
With horses of Saviour’s grace
The Chief commanded
He be brought a flask of water
Appeased Sioux bared witness
To the potential of a charmed face
He was to be given a soothing kiss
From Pocahontas, the Chief’s daughter
Reborn to consciousness
The Kid was breathless
With the morning glory
The chief approached with a task
For him to become a Little Brave
All the lies of demonic tales
Are abolished with the truth story
The Kid accepted the mission
To send the Sheriff to the grave
Sheriff Forlan fell
In the brutal bullet blaze
Billy vanquished
And rode into the sandstorm haze
Trick Or Treat
A little child prepares
For a nightly spook
He wears a cape
And false plastic teeth
He readies himself for a ghostly time
Out steps Luke
Something next door lurks
Spookily beneath
A rattling knock on the door
From the small boy
The tap thunders down the street
An abnormally hairy woman
Opens the door with a toy
The two exchange smiles
As they meet
The wart-ridden old lady
Offers him a sweet
He gladly accepts
Without hesitation or doubt
The little fella feels drowsy
And falls off his feet
She picks up the cute Boy Scout
He wakes up and is surrounded by
Dismembered corpses in the cellar
Rats nibble flesh from the bones
Of a partly decomposed dweller
Thanks for reading this far! Please let me know what you think of these poems if you have the time? :)
