I asked Poetinahat if I could post about this here, because it is a poetry contest, sponsored and judged by an occasionally published poet (me). He assured me this would be a-okay.

I posted about my little contest in Announcements and Self-Promotions, and I suspect - if most of my entries are any indication - you folks around here didn't see it.

Want to win an Advance Reading Copy of my lovely first novel autographed and personalized by me FOUR MONTHS before you can buy it in stores?

Sure ya do. Plus, you can brag in your cover letters about how you won a poetry contest.

http://www.absolutewrite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=79811

I'm shutting this down on the 21st, no matter what. We don't have all that much time, people.

Best of luck to all of you.

Here's a direct link to my blog entry with all the info:

so..... you'll let a 80,000 word erotic thriller pass as poetry right?
If not, I may be SOL on this one. But you Rock badducky :)

I've already picked the honorable mentions.

And, I've sent out word to the winner.

If you feel like you truly missed out, you can still get your hands on a (non-autographed, non-personalized, non-sweet-smelling-of-victory) Advance Copy at AbeBooks.com.

There was one left a few minutes ago. Only one.

Everyone else has to wait until February.

Them's the breaks, folks.

And, a big congratulations to the winner, and both the honorable mentions!

(I'm not going to announce the winner until I hear back from the poet. I think it's best to tell them first, you know?)

Crap. I did want to get to this, bd, but it's been a big family weekend. I'm sorry I didn't find out about it sooner.

Good on you for having the contest, and thanks for letting us know.

2 hours until midnight.

And, then I will announce the winner... Tomorrow morning!

I saw this thread shortly after this post. I had already had a hard night of writing with the FF challenge (okay, only 90 minutes) , but I was thinking of doing a limerick - I couldn't think of a whole one, but I came up with a last line something like:
"And then there were dragons no more."
