My fiancée and I spent a week putting together this 3 foot tall, two foot wide puzzle...

...only to discover that there is a single piece missing right out of the center.

The puzzle gods are frowning on us. :(

Wait, you have a fiancée? Seriously? One of them said yes?

Are you sure it wasn't designed to be missing one?

Yep. I knew if I stayed in that chat room long enough...

Are you sure it wasn't designed to be missing one?

It wouldn't surprise me.

If we don't find it, I'm going to glue it together anyway, and call the hole an "artistic statement."

And then sell it as a masterpiece.

There is a guy in the New England somewhere who designs incredible puzzles that are nearly impossible to put together.

His trademark is that there is always one piece missing, so I wondered if you had one of his.

Are those the ones that are like duel sided and there are no edge pieces and the picture on the box isn't exactly what's in the box?? Those ones??

Yes, those are the ones. I saw a program about him and thought it was so cool.

I am a jigsaw puzzle wiz.

I have won 2 contests.
I put a 5,000 piece puzzle (you have to start with all the pieces picture side down) together in less than 2 hours.

Sigh...yeah the greatest achievement I had was winning a puzzle contest!!

ETA: The trophy looked like a puzzle piece.

I've had that happen. Then I spend the next two weeks tearing apart the house only to find it wedged in the corner of the box. Did you check the corner of the box?

Well...I hate to say it, but I found out after a nasty doggie bm...2 days later, that my dog had ate the last piece of my "Creation of Adam" puzzle.

That puzzle cost $65...at 7,500 pieces and 4 days to finish.

Did I get that missing piece?

Hmm...you decide!!

1) Wait a week and make sure to look in the vaccuum bag. It will probably show up.

2) If it doesn't, write to the puzzle company. They might give you a new one or something. I'm sure it happens from time to time.

3) I have laughed at almost every post in this thread.

I feel there is a piece missing to this thread? I'm not seeing the whole picture.

We do jigsaws when we're taking breaks from jigsaws.
