What are some films that had great twist endings that you didn't see coming? Here are a few for me:

Sixth Sense
Fight Club
Primal Fear

The Prestige. I knew SOMETHING was coming, I was just so engrossed in the story that I didn't see it until it popped out at me. Which was the point.

Not technically at the end, but The Crying Game had a classic twist.

I guessed all the endings except the Sixth Sense -- I guess I just wasn't paying attention with that one.

Other twist endings, off the top of my head:

The Usual Suspects
The Illusionist
The Others
Donnie Darko
Primal Fear
Vanilla Sky

I totally saw American History X coming. But I love the movie...one of my top 10 favorites.

Sixth Sense was the first movie that came to mind when I saw this thread.
Primal Fear was a definite twist I didn't see coming.

I can't think of any you guys haven't named! But I'm a little brain fried tonight.

You saw Danny getting killed coming? I thought for sure Seth was gonna kill Derick. Definitely in my top 10 too along with Memento and Usual Suspects and Fight Club. I'm glad I watched all of them before reading this thread!

You saw Danny getting killed coming?

Absolutely. Mostly because Danny was the narrator. I knew something was going to happen to him...I didn't really expect the shooter to be kind of an unknown. I figured it would be a different scenerio but I wasn't very surprised.

Another vote for Sixth Sense and The Illusionist. Although I was blindsided on the latter because I saw in the oening credits it was based on a Steven Millhauser story--blech! Gag! curse! Rant!--and I immediately assumed it would have a miserable, depressing ending involving death of a beloved character. (Want me to tell you how I really feel now?)

Yep- I hated the movie though. :( What a waste of 2 hot male babes.

I figured out The 6th Sense right away.

The Illusionist was good!!

In the toidy.
I can't think of one not already mentioned. But Memento is one of my favorites.

Sixth Sense was kinda obvious, though, and that frustrated me. As did the remake of Planet of the Apes - that movie should have ended with the scene prior.

Identity! Yes that was crazy! Did not see that coming at all!

Actually I did, and it made the rest of the movie kind of a bore. I guessed it midway through and so I started to NOT care what happened to the characters. So sometimes it's better to just leave my brain at the door and enjoy the film instead of trying to outguess the storyteller. LOL.

Speaking of which, did anyone mention Secret Windows yet? Now, that one I didn't guess, and certainly wasn't expecting that ending.
