? Regarding NF Work Word Count/Pages

Hi Water Cooler,

I was wondering how many words and how many pages the average non-fiction piece is? Does anyone know this or where I can find this information. One agent suggested 60K words 350 pages. Sounds about right to me but what do I know....;)

Are you asking how to count it? Are you asking what the average non-fiction book is? What sort of non-fiction?

That leaves the range open from everything from The Elements of Style to the Biography of Charles Dickens by Peter Ackroyd (and that's just on the shelf next to me).

Even in that market, there's a good range, but 60-100k does sound fairly accurate to me, thinking about the self-help books I've seen and what I know about them.

But admittedly, it's not my area. I'm sure someone far wiser than I will be along shortly,
