What's your favorite Fall/Winter drink? What chases away that chill, or keeps you comfy and happy when it's raining outside?

With or without alcohol ?

(i tried some of the beers, and i've concluded: Beer = Viking Piss )
:D

Hot tea. Preferably Stash brand. I won't drink the hard stuff any more. :)

I like to sip amaretto when it's chilly outside, but you can't beat a Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks!

But for everyday, good old JFG coffee.

I just found a recipe I'm dying to try out:

Apple Cider
Spiced Rum
Cinnamon Schnapps
2 cloves

Serve hot :D

My mom makes wassal (dunno if that's spelled right) every Christmas Eve - I love it, but it's the only time I drink it. Just a whiff of apple cider and cinnamon puts me in a Christmassy kind of mood because of it, thought! :D

Sangiovese or Faustino Rioja.

Or tea.

Or bouillion.

Or coffee with dark cocoa powder and cinnamon.

Obviously, I'm very fond of urinating in coolish weather.

Okay. I nevernevernevernevernevernever buy Starbucks. But there's one drink this time of year... some pumpkin spice thingy (see, I don't even know the official 'half-double-half-skim-grande' name:tongue) and it is out of this world.

Thanks for the reminder, Midnight. I'm going to make it a point to indulge myself this week.:e2coffee: Mmm. Can't wait.

Terri - Mr. Vagabond calls that particular Nyquil "Green Death", and that's his favorite too ;)

Mud Dauber, yeah.....Pumpkin Spice Latte!!

Miss Perky, I'm a fan of hot bouillon too!

Jersey chick - Wassail! I've never tried that!

Midnight Muse, I HAVE to try that recipe. It sounds yummy!

Every autumn I pick up a bottle of Boulard Calvados. Real apple brandy, not just that flavoured stuff. I put it in everything, then have a snifter of it once in a while.

St. Brendan's Irish Creme Liqueur in warm cocoa...

OK more of a winter's drink, but outside of my Stout/Porter fix this is about it.

Is the pumpkin spice latte like a coffee thing? It sounds good!

For me?--special recipie hot chocolate (milk + cocoa mix + melted chocolate + marshmallows + whipped cream...it's a good thing I run a lot, haha) and french vanilla tea.

Beer. Only I start moving to the heavier beers as the air gets crisper.

Like scotch ales and IPAs.

I just love a warm cup of rooibos tea or coffee.

Alcohol makes me cold for some reason.

As far as beer goes, the wheat beers are nice in the fall, or a bitter. We have a beautiful beer here in Ontario called Creemore Ale. Creamy and yummy, good for a stormy day. We also have a raspberry wheat.

Scotch.Second!

A decent single malt spreads a nice warm glow through you. Just the thing!

Serve hotHot. And near a bathroom.

And, during the day, Coffee. Just plain old steaming hot coffee. :)

Yep! It's a latte with pumpkin spice flavoring. Not sure, but I think a latte is 1 part espresso with 2 parts steamed milk or something like that. Think cappuccino with more milk.

For me?--special recipie hot chocolate (milk + cocoa mix + melted chocolate + marshmallows + whipped cream...it's a good thing I run a lot, haha) and french vanilla tea.

Holy cripes! That sounds fantastic!!

Oooh, thanks, MM, for starting this thread!

I've been drinking "Pacific Spice" chai mix in my milk. I think that's the name of it. It comes in a brown box, like soy milk does. They also have it in decaf and vanilla. Great hot or cold.

I love sweet tea. And apple cider with cinnamon schnapps.

Oh, yeah. When it's really cold--hot cocoa in a big mug (extra powdered milk, please!) with about a tablespoon of peppermint schnapps. It's like drinking a Peppermint Pattie. Yum!

Ooh, yeah ! I love putting peppermint schnapps in hot chocolate :D Especially if you can put some (soy) whipped cream on top and sprinkle on crushed bits of candy-cane.
