Both. Have sex while writing the sex scene in your WIP just make sure youíre on top because sharp pencils cause damage.

Keep going, you're getting up there. :D

writing about sex?

In the short term, sex wins out every time. But unless you'll be happy displaying soiled sheets as a mark of achievement in later years, writing has its place in the long term.

writing about sex?Yes, itís been done before. Not by me, of course, I have a hard enough time with dangling participles.

Mate, I think your parents have a little more than that to show for their dedication.

Boy, I bet you wish you hadn't said anything NOW. :D

Depends entirely on how the market is reacting to tea prices in China. I figure if the market is right, doing both in one order or another would be particularly satisfying.

Well, either way, it's all about stamina. :D

Anyway. Short term, definitely sex. Long term...long term...uh...

Damn, this is hard. Can I take this course pass/fail?

Both require too much effort at times.

Writing scenes of a carnal nature while using my husband as a crash test dummy.

Surely I'm not the only person to have been thinking about sex while writing, and to be thinking about my writing while having sex. Right?

Actually, that could make a fairly funny internal monologue. We're bopping away and I'm thinking, What about the garage? Something in there must be lethal without requiring esoteric knowledge or brute strength. Hell, maybe I should just move the scene inside. But he'd never let her into his house. Okay, the garage, what's in a garage... She runs the mower over him? Right, he's going to hold still while she starts it--take a dozen pulls, too, probably. Damned mowers. Garden tools? Nah, they're never really sharp. Plus he wouldn't do his own gardening. He'd have a service. Probably wouldn't do his own mowing, either. Okay, then what's in his garage? Uh, boxes?

Maryn, who never sold the resulting story (but did manage to kill the guy in it)

Three words, Maryn: Electric-start mower.

Forced to make a choice, I'd never put another word on paper.

Forced to rank them, writing would be in the bottom drawer.

I just don't share that level of personal intimacy with the printed word, or with my laptop. On the other hand, the emotional high from a laptopper with my beloved is unmatched.

Depends what I write and who I have sex with. Both potentially are very disappointing.

Somedays, I'd rather just sleep and sleep and sleep. Some days I'd rather write about sex - and toss a couple of drinks in with that and it's almost the same as actually doin' it!

Somedays sex is just groovy. Somedays, like today, my floor heater is even better. :)

I think it is difficult to write without some type of relationship with sex. . . either comfort with regular intercourse or the enhanced clarity that comes with the lack thereof. Therefore I would say that sex is more important (the notion of procreation that are inherent to the survival of the species) and probably more satisfying. Writing, though can be done as a collaboration, is more or less a type of mental masturbation and a solo activity. Maybe it is just me but I like the notion of two people accomplishing something in their lives. . . like. . .you know. Getting it on. In the road even.

I do my best writing during sex, so I can't choose. My husband always manages to screw up the plot though.

This poll isn't fair.
Choices: Sex, Writing, Neither .... how about BOTH !!!

Hmmm. Well, considering the fact that I WRITE romance, well the sex is much needed research.

I need both in my life. Wouldn't want to do without either of them.

Sex doesn't disapoint me as much as my writing does.

But my writing last longer. I take that back; I can only write for last 2 hrs and sex last a little longer. (Yeah, right!)
