Although I am not dumb enough to only keep my WIPs on memory stick, it still would have sucked to ruin it. Always check your pockets before you throw your jeans in to the washer!

I've lost one of mine, and no, I don't have everything only saved on it but, yes, it does suck to lose it.

When we did our Trash The Dress photo shoot the other weekend, my friend had me keep her car keys in my pocket during the shoot. Well, we ALL forgot I had them, and I had NO IDEA there was a thumb drive attached to the keyring until AFTER I had been chest deep in salt water off and on for the better part of 2 hours.

Fortunately, the thumb drive -- and the remote for her car -- still worked.

I washed a memory stick once and it remained functional, after letting it dry for awhile.

But mostly, I'm commenting because of the deep coolness which is that "ONOZ OMG" thingie.

I'm also liking the onoz omg.

I want it! (more fodder for the quote out of context club)

My sister washed her remote car key thingie. Not just once, but twice! It was fixable, thank goodness.

So far I haven't washed my usb stick, but I do live in fear of that very thing.

I've laundered a thumb drive--and dried it, too. To our amazement, it worked without a hitch, and never smelled sweeter.

Maryn, figuring adults can check their own damned pockets before putting stuff down the chute

Question about this...if the car was around the washer, did the alarm go nuts? Just wondering with all the accidental tumbling possibly meaning buttons were being smashed. I think that would be hilarious. "Honey, I think there's a poltergeist in our car."

Washed hubby's Harmony Remote.

It was wrapped inside a blanket that I just threw in the washer.
You should have seen the look on his face when he saw all the pretty bubbles in it's screen.
