Well, if you want to know, he'll be on Radio One tonight. He'll spend an hour playing the songs that influenced him and probably talking about them too.

Now, if that sounds like the kind of thing you'd like to listen to, you can.

Sir Paul did once mention in a prior year that his all time favorite song is "God Only Knows" by the Beach Boys. By the way, Sir Ben, when you say it'll be on at 2100 GMT, is that in centimeters or kilodrafts of beer, or what?

I'll be serious, so you can just skip this.

If I read one of my short stories, I can tell you what music inspired it. Might be Mozart, might be Holst, might be Pink Floyd or Black Sabbath or Alice Cooper. I always remember.

If I read someone else's writing, I probably don't care. Hah!
