UCSF is one of the world's most reknown medical schools specializing in neuroscience. Call the department and talk with one of the administrators who can direct you to one of their docs. Otherwise, there is an excellent neurosurgeon in Honolulu, but the time difference may be restrictive. Let me know if you want the name. I'll PM it to you.

Thanks for these tips. I'm going to do some more research on my own, and then I'll let you know once I've done enough homework to feel ready to talk to a professional. But it's good to know that UCSF is so well-respected, I wasn't aware. Will call them soon.
