I don't know whether any of you saw the AP article that appeared in the Columbus Dispatch on Wednesday, August 22 with the title "Read a Good Book? How about any book?"

According to the article, one in four adults say they read no books at all last year. Of the respondants who did read, women and seniors were the most frequent readers and religious works and popular fiction were the top choices. It went on to say that the typical reader read four books last year and of the "readers", women read nine books and men five. People over 50 read more than those who were younger. Of the types of materials read, the Bible and religious works were read by 2/3 of those in the survey. Popular fiction, histories, biographies, and mysteries were read by about half of those in the survey. Twenty percent of those in the survey read romance novels. Politics, poetry, and classical literature were named by less than five percent of the readers.

Surveys can be mis-leading - how do you feel about the results this one shows? Puma
