I see a lot of people going to FAQ's and Tech Help asking for ways to send a response back for a rep point. Apparently, its a very complex code to crack in getting that accomplished. I thought this would help.

If you get a rep point you want to respond to, put the person's name and a brief response to the rp in a post here. you dont have to quote the rep, we don't need to know all your business, (and hopefully the person that repped you will know what the heck you are talking about.)

If you left a rep you think might have merited a response, check here to see if you got one.

Sass - :D thanks.
Delarege - It's true. I am not a gracious loser and difficult to please.
Robeaie, KTC, and William H - I love you too. ;)
Sunna7kore - your good luck rep worked.
Clockwork - with hot fudge, please.

It is sorta scary, Kate, to give our rep points when drunk. I've done it.
billy and bravo still look at me funny since then.

And I can hardly look some avatars in the face.

Considering, this might not be such a good idea, they'll be able to tell me what they think of "whateveritwasisaid" that I don't quite recall.

How can one tell if a rep is negative?

Ok... Go to your list of rep points.

They all fit inside a table of sorts. There's a blank column, in light blue, then the thread title in a white column, then the date in a blue column, etc.

Right click on the "blank" light blue column. and then click "properties." You'll see that that the empty square actually is named either reputation_pos.gif or reputation_neg.gif.

That's the only real way. Or you can do the dclary/billythrilly method, and just always know your rep-number. Then if you get a rep and it goes up, it's positive; if it goes down it's not.

Actually, mine doesn't even say properties. Just "view image" and then the pos or neg info appears in the address line.

Susie - I think I owe about 20 rep points. You do those surprise attack reps that I love so much. Just so you know I appreciate the heck out of them and I owe ya.
Yes, all is well with me and mine, and love and hugs back to you!

Silver King: You're welcome.
Ben W: What's wrong with black? Lots of people wear black to wedding receptions. Besides, I am a vampire, didn't you know that?
Louis: Sorry you had to work. I'm fine and dandy, I guess.
BF: I'm still living in the 60s. And stop busting my balls.
SK: I know. And you're welcome.
Kimmi: It was dark and he wasn't looking.
RT: Neg rep me all you want. It won't even affect my rep count. He he.

I don't remember what my comment was. Was this the one about using newspaper if you run out of toilet paper?

...using newspaper if you run out of toilet paper?

Passing on the family wisdom. Doesn't it warm your heart? :D I grew up thinking you could only use a Sears catalog.

Hmm. Seems I stopped in here at an awkward moment. Don't think I like the thought of rubbing newspaper or catalog pages on certain areas of my body. Be back later.

This is the only problem with this rep response repository thing. What if you can't remember what your comment was.

But yeah, sure, it was the newspaper thing.

you could always quote the rep comment if you think they won't remember and it is something that is uh "share-able"

Sor-reeeee your majesty! Just stay up in your two-ply castle and don't socialize with us Inkbutts.

I've just inspired myself to write a fanfic Harry Potter novel where the Mudbloods have been replaced by the Inkbutts. Nobody steal my idea!

There is no QUOTE button in the reps, how do we do this? Is there a dummy method of quoting, for the dummies, me?

Yeah, youre right. And it was off to such a good start, too! Harry was wondering what happened to his spellbooks when Snape comes out of the restroom holding just a book cover with the pages torn out...
