I'm interested and just wondering. I'd rather have been named Sabrina. So pretty.

When I was five, for a period of a few days I insisted that my parents call me Mr. Spock because I wanted to have that name. True story.

For a while I hated my name and would rather be called Brian or Christopher.

And now, I just wanted to be called "honey."

I would have called myself something equally cringeworthy.

And that's why children are rubbish and should never be allowed to do anything.

I still think Michael would have been cool anyway.

Susie...since you asked in your very nice rp....I'll answer....I don't know. (No, that's not what I would have picked!). I have a rather long last name and a very unusual middle name so at times I remember thinking I'd rather had a less unusual and shorter name, but nothing ever specific. I have used a couple of interesting names in my WIP that I thought might be 'cool', but sorry, I never honestly thought of picking a different name...

...I have, however, been mistakingly called "Scott" by dozens of people throughout my life, so for some odd, unexplained reason, I must look like a "Scott"....whatever a "Scott" looks like...

When I was younger and at often the whim of drunken relatives that loved karaoke and the extremely-off-key sounds of their own voices, pretty much anything but the name I had would have been acceptable, as me da named me after an annoying song that was popular at the time.

Now that I'm older, able to defend myself, and at the whim of drunken relatives that still love karaoke, I'd probably be a little pickier than pretty much anything.

I think. :)

Hmmm...when I was little, I just wanted my name to be spelled more normal. Everyone always misspelled my name. I even started spelling it Kristy for awhile but my mom told me to cut it out. :(

I guess I always like the names Maggie or Alexis. I think I'd be cool as an Alex. :)

So you're saying Kristy is more normal than Kristie? That's funny, cause if anyway ever told me their name was Kristie, I'd spell it -ie. Unless it started with a Ch, then I'd do Christy...hm

I called myself "Tiger" for a few weeks in my early years. Nobody else did, so it didn't stick. At the moment I'm liking Leo. As in Leonora. I dunno.

As a kid I wanted to be a Sam or Rainbow... really, Rainbow. I think I must have seen a few too many Rainbow Bright episodes. I also thought Jem was pretty neat at one point in time. Uh-oh, now I have that theme song in my head.

I was supposed to be Naomi and I've always thought that was a rather nice name.

I would have picked a weirder name for myself. I've always been bored with mine, but I don't hate it. It is just there; that pretty much sums me up -- blah and just there.

I still like the name Sam so I named my son Samuel... I really wanted to name him Malachi, but my mom talked me out of it.

No, that was Karen Grassle. Michael Learned was on The Waltons. And so goes another Things From the 70's lesson!

My name was originally going to be Patrick Robert, Rick for short, but instead I was named after my father and had the Jr. stuck on. I finally told my mother one day how much I resented that because not only am I the middle kid AND the only boy, it was a pain trying to carve out my own identity with Jr. on my name.

I'm sorry. What was the question?

They still could have named you Michael. There's a family in this town who named their daughter Michael. She then married a Michael. Must be really confusing.

When I was growing I just wanted a name that wasn't easily changed to liar.

I've always been partial to Jo as in Josephine from "Little Women" there was a short time I wanted to be called that. Louisa too.

Now I love my name.
