I just killed another one of those suckers!! It's a bad year for Black Widow spiders -- they're freaking everywhere, !
What??? Where??? Exactly where in the US are they 'everywhere'? Before I get on a plane. Please tell me there's none in Florida or San Diego.

They are everywhere. They like to hide, you don't see them too often. If you find a really messy looking, really sticky web, that could be a black widow's. They used their webs in bombsights in WWII. They only bite when seriously bothered. We had them in Oregon, in Burbank, now in Palm Springs. What I want to know, is what the hell was that guy doing, keeping termites!?

I have a friend that kept scorpions. He used to play with them. Maybe the guy was just walking his spider or something. That's the thing about a Black Widow spider. You can train them forever and you still can't trust them.

Pet scorpions?

Y'know, skydiving is starting to sound incredibly sane all of a sudden...

Pet scorpions?

Y'know, skydiving is starting to sound incredibly sane all of a sudden...

Actually, sky diving is quite sane. Unlike driving down a freeway with 500 other folks flitting along at 75 mph in 3,000 lb aluminum cans. While they are talking on their phones, reading, eating, putting on makeup, turning aroudn to scream at the rowdy kids in the back seat, watching the DvD in the dash and generally doing anything but paying attention to driving.

:D
