I don't normally do this - I look at requests for partials as potential false hope, but today I need a little false hope ! You know how it feels when you're in the middle of edits on a WIP and you have another novel waiting to be started, and you get slammed with Form Rejections - you sit there, staring at your edits, wondering why you're not a sheep farmer.
I do have a partial out right now, still in the midst of the 3-6 month (or more) wait to hear back. So to keep myself from giving up all hope, since it wasn't an exclusive partial by any means, I decided to send out another round of queries using the one that netted me the one positive response. Yesterday I got two e-sent, today both came back as No Thanks.
Dejected, I went ahead with another 3 today via email (I have 3 more ready to go snail). Got two bounced back to me right away with incorrected addresses (taken right from their web pages) but . . .
I got one: Please send me Chapter 1 as a Word attachment
Okay, so this just pushes the Thanks but No Thanks off for a few hours, maybe a day - but I get to smile for the rest of today (and actually I can keep smiling so long as I never check my email again )
