Yay! Every other day is right-hander day. We get one day. One.

Help, help! I'm being repressed! (I've always wanted to say that!)

I have a daughter who is a leftie, as well. And I couldn't be more happy about that. Is that a sad thing? Most people look at it as a deformity--I wear it like a badge of honor.

I checked out the leftie-day website. They have a great pen that looks like it would be perfectly wonderful to use. No smudges, and you can see what you're writing.

I know there are other lefties 'round here! *looks in her magic mirror* I see you!

Kevin, isn't your signature growing? The 6' 3" isn't going to be happy about this. (In respect of lefty celebration, the post is typed with left hand only.)

I'm left handed most of the time - can't use leftie scissors and I play guitar right handed for some weird reason.

Do you get the astonished "You're left-handed" whenever someone sees you write for the first time?

I'm hoping my son turns out to be a lefty - He's my last hope. My husband and daughter are righties, but I love them anyway :D

For some reason, I get the "Oh, you're left-handed, THERE's a shock..." I guess left-handed = weird. LOL

I know a family of ALL lefties...husband, wife, and both kids. Even the dog is probably left-handed.

I always get the surprised reaction, which leads me to say (being the smartass that I am) "Oh my GOD! I wasn't left-handed yesterday! Quck - someone get me to the ER!"

That's one of those "Here's your sign" moments for sure. :D

And, because I don't twist my arm around to write (you know what I mean, doncha??) people are even more amazed.

THEM: "But you write normal!"
ME: "No shit."

M is a lefty. So is my youngest.

Both of them think the world is out to get them.

lefty = paranoid

(Okay, I admit it. I have, in the past, given M a gel pen to write with or a regular pair of scissors for my own demonic pleasure of watching him try to operate these things. Yeah, yeah, I'm going to hell.)

I'm a lefty, my husband's a lefty, and one of his buddies is too.

My daughter is showing an inclination, but it's too early to tell.

Now I read somewhere that if the whorl on the top of your head swirls counterclockwise, you have a slightly greater chance of being a leftie.

Everyone break out your mirrors!

I like to torture righties by making them try to write left-handed - my husband looks like Rain Man trying to write out his name.

Though I'm primarily a lefty, I'm ambidextrous in that I can do everything with my right hand as well (though my writing is a bit illegible - which actually isn't all that different from my "normal" writing) which means Jersey Guy can't turn it around on me. hee hee.

I'm a lefty now but used to be ambidextrous and, when still but small, used to worry my mother by writing with both hands simultaneously, out from a central margin, so my left hand would write in mirror writing. The best bit was that I wrote different things with each hand. Ha.

Not that any of it was particularly understandable as I am dyslexic but it was a nice skill to have.
