I love "wine o'clock" on the terrace at my parents' house.

I hate having to walk her fifteen minutes after that, just when I've gotten comfy.

I love the way the air smells right after a rainstorm
I hate when the rain turns to that hair-frizzing mist that refuses to stop.

I love sushi.

I love voices.
I hate small mindedness.

I love watching my daughters blow bubbles in the sunshine. I love seeing them jump into the air and try to catch them on their tongues and laugh when they bump their heads together going after the same bubble. I love their messy hair from swimming and the way they share clothes.

I hate that they had to play right outside the door where I could see them every single second and the way I have to memorize what each is wearing, just in case and that they can't ride their bikes down the street to play at their friend's house and that they can't walk down to the local grocery and buy each other orange popsicles.

I love love. I hate hate.

I love: Gummi bears, Sunday mornings and fall

I hate: microwave food, Monday mornings and winter

I love the smell of the orange groves when the trees are blooming in the Spring.

I love the smell of eucalyptus trees after they've been rained on.

I hate the smell of someone wearing too much perfume, especially if it's a really common brand.

I love the sound of my son saying "Mom."

I hate the sound of him crying.

I love having lived this long.

I hate the way the years look on me.

Just remembered something else I hate.

SUNFISH.

I hate them. I love animals and I love all of God's creation, but the one, single, solitary thing I cannot stand is sunfish. They a freaky, they creep me out, they make me want to run away screaming. They look like someone amputated their tails and they swim all slow because they are just waiting for me to get into the water so they can COME EAT ME.

I also hate that I have to worry when it's just gotten dark and my daughter's not home yet. I hate that she will never know what it's like to not have to take her shoes off at an airport security checkpoint, and that she will never know just how beautiful the NYC skyline was from the Turnpike on the way to NY Giants games.

I love acting.

I hate celebrity.

I love the scent of an ocean, the tranquillity of a lake, the sound of small waves lapping against the shore, and wind rustling autumn leaves.

I hate people who litter or hurt animals.
