For a month, my arm has looked like THIS (but not quite as gross...I don't know what this chick has been doing for maintenance...):

And in less than twelve hours, it will look like THIS:

It's a no-more-PICC-line party, people. Come celebrate with me. I have Blow Pops.

You're going to have a transparent pencil-drawn arm? That's so effing cool. I'd high five you, but I don't want to smudge your fingers.

YES it will be either transparent or paper white, I have yet to hear the final word.

I am so proud of you. Not everyone just gives up a heroin addiction cold turkey like that.

Oh, I'm not giving it up. I just miss the fun of hunting for a fresh vein each time.

When my arm was transparent it just didn't measure up to my expectations. What you have to do is make sure you've got a good artist. Mine sucked.

Shady, I'm not sure why you had a PICC line, but I'm glad to hear it's being removed.
My little one (now 2 1/2 years old) had one in his head for a couple weeks when he was just 6 weeks old. Getting one removed is only good news!

I have Lyme disease. It basically sucks a lot. Try not to get it.

Oh, and my home nurse couldn't come today. So I'm not getting it out until tomorrow. I hate my home nurse. I'm going to have a blow pop to make myself feel better. Feel free to join me. :)

After getting her pencil-sketch arm transplant, Shady will go off in search of her people:

Is it sad that the first thing I thought of when I saw that pencil sketch arm was a 80's pop song instead of something witty? *sigh*

Look at the bright side, you can always pencil in some really good veins.

Geez, that thing looks infected. Sorry you have to go through that kind of stuff. It either makes us or breaks us. Glad you're holding up.

:snoopy: Getting a PICC out deserves a good snoopy. And a Blow Pop!

Glad you're able to get it out.
