The Book of Lists

The other day, on the Music thread, bored with naming guitarists, I came up with a list of my five favorite potatoes (little red, sweet potato fries, latkes, julienne, garlic mashed)--which apparently III was the only one brilliant enough to appreciate.
But it gave me the idea to start an AW Book of Lists.
These lists shouldn't be merely silly, they should be drawn from life: deeply personal, poetic and profound.
I'll go first. You can add to these, or create your own.

Not bad. That reminds me, when I edited a glossy monthly, the first thing I did when the new issue came in was to smell the magazine.

Another thing we wanted to do was to have the issue smell like a new car, the way the women's magazines smell like perfume. But it was too expensive. Now they have this kind of stuff in a can: Day at the Beach, Day on the Subway, Prince Albert, Lavender. They call it aromatherapy.

Oh yeah, and then there's Neat's Foot Oil, the stuff you gobbed on your new baseball glove to soften it up for the season.
