New season starts Friday night. The New York Times says:

Mike Hale
Sarah Silverman turns up on the sixth-season premiere of “MONK” (USA, 9 p.m. Friday), reprising her role as the combination stalker-fan-sidekick Marci Maven, and for about the first half-hour — as the buttoned down craziness of Tony Shalhoub and the completely unbuttoned craziness of Ms. Silverman rub up against each other — it’s the Best. “Monk.” Ever.

'Love this character and Tony Shalhoub.

I love Monk, watch it all the time, although I'm guessing we wont get the new series over here for a while though.

I'm with popmuze. The show lost it's zing with Sharona. Her replacement makes "vapid" sound exciting by comparison.

I still watch sometimes though because Shalhoub is a treat.

Ahhh...you don't like Natalie?

I wonder if we writers, neurotic as we are, tend to identify with MonK???

I used to watch Monk faithfully but I agree, it lost something when Sharona left. I tried to like Natalie (I love Traylor Howard as an actress!) but it's just missing something. I still watch once in a while but Monk lost his place on my DVR.

I like Natalie too, though I did prefer Sharona if I had to pick one. But Adrian Monk hisself has always been the reason I watch the show. Tony Shaloub is a genius.

COunt me among the faithful fans of the "Defective Detective."

But I agree that it lost something when Sharona left.

I think they should figure out a way to reunite Monk and Sharona. That episode would rank up there with the ones with John Turturro.

Count me in as another lover of Monk. We get it on Netflix so we're just watching the last season right now. Woo hoo!!! Only thing better than Monk on TV right now is House. :)

Sharona treated him like a nurse. Natalie treats him more like a person. But it's not as funny.

You mean, you still keep a-breast of the show?

And Natalie just doesn't stack up?

I don't make an appointment with it, like I used to. But I'll watch it every now and then.

I loved last week's episode. It made me cry when Monk found out the woman had Trudy's corneas.

Sharona didn't leave, she vanished into thin air.
