Well, the main edits are finally done on the novel, and I've got a few minor things I still need to touch on.

But tomorrow, barring complete internet meltdown, I'm starting on the next phase of this whole writing thing. Querying! 9 agents the first round, and my sights are set low. One request for a partial or a full, doesn't matter. That's all I'm asking for.

It may not be a lot, but it's an amazing next step. I'm excited. :)

Congratulations on finishing the book! Best of luck in your search for an agent, and may checking your email/postal mail every day be exciting, not terrifying. :D

Woohoo. First rejection out of the initial four I sent out. So excited. :)

I really, really shouldn't be this excited about a form letter rejection. But I am. :)

I was really excited about my first form rejection, too.

Who's ever heard of an author getting an agent on the first query? Now that you have that out of the way, the representation offers can start rolling in! :)

Good Luck!

Holy cow. 2 form rejections, and then I came home from work today to see a request for the full manuscript.

I don't think it's settled in yet.

One request for full out of four queries sent out? That's well-nigh awesome. Two years ago when I first started sending, it took me about thirty to get my first. Hopefully it means that you'll get as many requests for submission as you'll ever need.

I'd tip my hat if I were wearing one.
