For all of you wonderful folks who introduced me to Spider Solitaire...I have just one question:

For the 2nd and 3rd levels: does anybody ever win? What's the secret.

I've gone from Big Money, to Bejwelled, to Atomica Deluxe, now I'm in Peggle hell.

Oh, but who could forget the months of Tasmania and Feeding Frenzy?

Rule 1: Don't start a game until you see at least 4-5 moves from the cards on top. The only real trick to winning is to get deep quick, so you have free spaces to move kings off when they pop up. I would say that at the hardest level, I play maybe 1 out of 20 deals, and I win about 2 out of 5 deals that I play.

Missing Writer??? May flights of angels carry you
So, I guess this answers my question about whether or not I was the only person who procrastinates by playing computer games when we should be writing. I always just tell the kids that 'Mommy's thinking about her outline revisions!!' and then give them shit for not doing their homework and chores!!!

At last, a tip I can use. Now I can't wait until I can play again tomorrow. See how disciplined I am? I'm not going to use it tonight.

I'm not really procrastinating. I'm just trying to make waiting more bearable. Right now I've got the following making the rounds:
With an agent:
Novels = 1
Short stories = 8
Non-fiction proposals = 1 (see my sad non-fiction post)
Without an agent
Potential freelance assignments = 3
Job/Consulting projects = 11
Actual assignments at the moment = 1@$500 for 3000 words due in ten days.

The way I see it, this being a holiday week, in the summer yet, I don't expect anything at all to happen until at least the 9th except I beef up my solitaire and scrabble stats (I could always finish reading a book or twelve).

When does the APBA baseball season start?

I have beaten the hard level three times now. From thousands of games. Thousands.

I don't even try if the first hand isn't great.
