(I just couldn't wait any longer. I am too excited.)

It is my extreme pleasure to announce our newest Poet Laureate.

Congratulations and a Big Thank You to:

NeuroFizz

His unique style and incredible giving spirit encourage all of us to get better and think harder about our craft. This spirit is demonstrated through his thought-provoking work and generous critiques.

His term of office starts on July 1 and extends through the end of August.

I'm looking forward to your term and all you will bring to it, Rich!

Congratulations!

Oh man, I saw the thread title and thought I had been named poet laurate despite having submitted no poetry. Thanks for getting my hopes up, Trish. Congratulations, Fizz. You deserve it more than I do.

well shoot~

I didn't even think about the III thing. See, when PIAH put up my announcement thread a couple months ago, it said "Poet Laureate II" - so I was trying to stay consistent.

I'm not a poet, but when I saw this thread I thought I should probably see who the new Poet Laureate is.

Congratulations, NeuroFizz. Whatever your position does, I know you'll do it well.

How cool is this, huh? UBER congrats! Not only a gifted word painter, but never too busy to help a budding poet.

Thank you all for your kinds words. I'll try my best to uphold the standards set by the previous two honorees, and of all of you who post in the poetry forum on a regular or occasional basis. Talent is eyebrow deep around here.

And that Laureate badge just looks natural there, it does.

Congratulations, NF.

And a big, big THANK YOU to Stew21 for her great good works as a Poet Laureate.

Job well done, Trish--thank you for the monumental effort you put into the forum every month--every day!

Congratulations, NeuroFizz! We look in awe at the menagerie of critters you command. Then there are the ones in your poems, too!

Yes, Rich--high congrats to you; your laurel is richly deserved! (Psst. They're supposed to be worn on your head. Don't sit on them. I tried that, once. Got a rash. And even more embarrassing, they weren't my laurels to begin with!)
