Okay, I 'fess, the Americans writing about England thread has been doing so well I decided it was time to start a thread on writing about America - the states, Canada, Mexico and all our neighbors to the south.
Have you found it easier or harder (in your opinion) to find the historical records and information you need for your WIP?
Are there types of records you just can't put your hands on? What types?
Since the Americas have been a melting pot, has it been a challenge to handle the differences in native tongues in the locale and time period of your WIP?
Has the spaciousness of the Americas offered you any problems or helpful solutions?
Are you writing about your home area of the Americas - or, as in the writing about England thread, are you writing about an area you haven't experienced first hand?
