Anyone know of any good sites for finding common surnames (and first names, for that matter) in the Naples region of Italy? Bonus if I can find common first names used in the early 20th century.

*sigh* "Write what you know." Right. Which is why I'm writing a story in the 1950's in a small village outside of Naples from the perspective of a shell-shocked American soldier. *pounds head against wall*

I was searching by "Naples", not "Napoli region", which didn't quite yield the same results. Thanks. :)

http://www.behindthename.com/random/ might be fun to play with. My guess would be that Italian surnames haven't changed all that much

I don't know of any sites on the Internet, but I might contact a local Italian community center or even a professor of Italian at a university. If you are able to connect with people from the region, they would probably be quite willing to help with that and more.
