I know this is a small thing, but it's big to me.

My confidence was so shattered when I started to get rejections on my completed novel that I stopped writing my WIP. Every sentence was torture as I kept asking, "Am I kidding myself? Do I really have anything to say that's worth reading?"

Well, yesterday I decided that they only way out of this was through, so I sat down and wrote about 1500 words. And some of it was even good. :tongue

So now I'm back to writing. Go me!

That isn't small at all! And it is also actually a really good lesson I think for other writers to see that sometimes you just have to slog through it, and by golly "some of it was even good!"

So congrats! I am most impressed, and now slightly shamed as I have yet to write a word today. You have given me that little shove to get back to work, thank you!

:snoopy: You write girl!

I've been there. Writing is indeed the only medicine to make the self-doubt go away. Kate had a great sig line for a while: Write, submit, repeat. It's dead on.

I totally understand, and I am inspired by your choice to write even if your confidence is low right now. I need the same kind of push.

Congrats on pushing yourself!

Congratulations! Let me add to the cheering section: :e2cheer:

Everything you write is good practice. If you stop now, how will you ever know where you might have ended up?

If it helps, during last year's NaNo the refrain was "Just keep writing, just keep writing" sung to Dory's song from Finding Nemo.

That's great, Melody. Keep writing. Sure sorry that you weren't doing well with it before, though.

Thanks to everyone for their encouragement. It got me in a dancing mood, that's for sure ::does the mashed potato::

I'm so grateful that I found AW, and all the wonderful people here. You're the only ones who truly "get" what being a writer is like. Okay now, group hug!

Join us in the 500 words a day challenge.

http://absolutewrite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=66264&page=2

We make a modest challenge. I usually write more than my 500 but having such a small goal makes it easy to open the doc and say "I can do that."

NaNo in the fall is a great thing. I learned that I can do as many as 5K a day without keeling over dead.
